FAQ - AUSTRALIAN ALPINE AND SNOWY MOUNTAINS

YES!! Not a problem. Multiple families on the same booking need to all be staying at the same accommodation. All families in the booking will need to separately complete paperwork to comply with health and safety.  Your bespoke hourly rate will reflect the ages of children in the singular booking, especially if children are  under 5 years old. We have many clients that share childcare & Billy Button Babysitting will happily accommodate your booking if we can. 

Billy Button Babysitting Agency  provides a  Professional Childcare Service, at your Booked Accommodation or your Home. Carers will take your child to village activities and ensure their day is filled with a memorable care experience. We are not a mothers help service that will accompany you around the Village or on the Mountain. Our insurance prohibits on snow activities & does not cover care outside of sole charge care. We do not facilitate tobogganing, alpine coaster rides or swimming & children's  bathtime routine. 

YES!! WE ARE IN A POPULAR TOURIST DESTINATION.  Billy Button Babysitting will endeavour to meet your Childcare requests to the best of our ability.  However due to a severe shortage of professional seasonal staff, we are giving preference to Full Day Bookings and also Consecutive Day Bookings. This is a Rural Regional Service and we are at the mercy of this. This does not mean we are not available for shorter bookings, so please still get in touch. Staff have to travel to and from the booking locations, which can take upwards of an hour depending on the weather conditions. There are no Thredbo / Perisher based staff this season unfortunately. This also means that meeting your carer in advance will simply not be something we are able to do. 

Daytime bookings are ( 07.00 - 17.00 )  

(JUNE + JULY + AUGUST+ SEPTEMBER  6 hour minimum bookings)

(OCTOBER - MAY it is 5 hour minimum bookings)

Evening Babysitting is ( 17.00 - 00.00 )

(JUNE + JULY + AUGUST + SEPTEMBER  4 hour minimum bookings)

(OCTOBER - MAY it is 3 hour minimum bookings)  

All our Professional Carers are industry experienced and therefor are allocated to bookings depending on their specific skill set and most importantly the age group they are mostly qualified to work with. Therefor all carers are booked  in advance to their specific jobs for the calendar. Depending on their own availability and our booking calendar this system also allows us to offer a more regulated service. 

With your written consent we will take the child / children in our care, out to get fresh air or to the local park while you enjoy your time in the village for daytime bookings. All our carers love the outdoors and know the village facilities that are best suited to your child’s age and activity interests. We also bring along some age appropriate toys & activities to make the day extra fun !

Billy Button Babysitting provides a  Professional Childcare Service, at your Booked Accommodation or your Home. We have a very high booking demand this year and simply not enough seasonal staff to accommodate any other service that is beyond primary childcare at your booked accommodation. 

Teaching on the mountain is strictly not allowed in Thredbo and Perisher. Only authorised ski instructors are allowed to teach through the authorised schools, for any lessons or assistance. Billy Button Babysitting Agency  insurance does not cover winter or mountain sports activities.  We highly recommend avoiding offers from non registered instructors to teach your child snow sports. It is a highly technical sport that can hold a very high risk of injury if not done by professionals. 

Billy Button Babysitting provides a  Professional Childcare Service, at your Booked Accommodation or your Home. Evening care will mostly support dinner and evening bedtime routine care. All of the information regarding your child’s evening routine and bedtime, will be arranged in advance so the carer and the family have peace of mind. 

Our carers are not housekeepers or cleaners. The service provided is purely a Professional Childcare Service. We are happy to put you in touch with services in the area that can cater for those alternative needs.

Depending on the length of your booking, we will arrange in advance with you the primary care needs for your child. This will cover everything from their dietary needs, allergies and also sleep or activity routines. Our carers will happily prepare the bottles and solid feeds for infants and younger children. Food supplied by the client will be given to your child as per an agreed schedule for the day and often clients prefer to leave some kitty money for the carer, for lunch at one of the restaurants/ cafes with the child /children in their care.  Coffee / Tea is also appreciated by the carers especially during the snowy cold bookings. 

We have carers that mostly live in Jindabyne or the surrounding areas. If you are making a booking for Thredbo you need to consider that your carer will be travelling from Jindabyne to provide the service and this can be an often misty drive to and from your booking location. Wildlife are out on the roads and the drive is often timely. The resorts do not have busses at night and walking to the carpark from accommodation is usually a good 15 minutes. Therefor it is essential to make sure that the carer can get to your booking and also safely home or to another booking, within a certain period. To make this a fair process we have this minimum booking policy.
